DeVine and Co.

The two had played literally hundreds of jazz performances together throughout the years, but this occasion reawakened them to the songs of the Grateful Dead as vehicles for creative improvisation and musical fun. They soon recruited Jordan McElroy (guitar) and Clay Alligood (drums) into the fold to create a quartet of powerhouse players that quickly morphed into an actual band.

Although the Grateful Dead’s catalog was their touchstone, their sets currently include music by many other artists, as well as an ever-expanding batch of original material by the group. The long list of acts in which DeVine and Co. members have played key roles includes Downright, Skydog Gypsy, Mile Marker 7, Earthbound, The Chad Fisher Group, Will Stewart, FisherGreen, Stuart McNair Band, Mark Kimbrell Trio, Big Greasy Brass and Bonus Round. Peyton Grant (The Peytones, Black Jacket Symphony, Honeybaked) is a frequent addition on keyboards and Myron Scott, Jay Smith and Brett Huffman (Resort Realism, Future Elevators, Iron Giant Percussion) have all made stellar contributions on percussion.

The sky is the limit for this group of industry veterans as they continue to bring their excellent musicianship and excitement for live performance to show after show.
